Internet Is A Human Right

3.9+ Billion people worldwide do not have access to the internet.

Why Internet?

1.8 billion unconnected could be reached today with some form of internet infrastructure. Economically disadvantaged people in areas with no internet or high barriers to access are experiencing a Catch-22 wherein they must climb out of poverty to afford internet; while internet is the tool that enables them to do so through educational resources.

The capital investment to deploy the physical infrastructure to the poorest communities outweighs the for-profit business case for the telecom industry. This is why we exist.

Our Model

Our proven model is intended to give communities the tools they need to drive their own economic development and advocate for themselves on the global stage.

Connect

We work with local community leaders to deploy a WiFi hotspot in their community.

Educate

Provide education through the internet connection and community leaders.

Empower

Allow anyone and everyone in the community to learn a trade or become leaders themselves.

Madagascar Flagship

Under 5% of Madagascar’s population has internet access, despite having some of the fastest internet speeds in Africa. Like elsewhere, for the Malagasy people, the prohibiting factor is cost. The average Malagasy person would have to spend over 200% of their monthly income to afford the monthly fee for basic internet. This makes it an ideal place for our first internet deployments.

  • The average Malagasy makes around $401 annually, making it one of the poorest countries in the world
  • About 80% of the population are farmers
  • Around 80% of Madagascar’s wildlife is found nowhere else in the world
  • Because of slash and burn farming and deforestation, Only 10-20% of Madagascar’s original forests still remain.Around 80% of Madagascar’s wildlife is found nowhere else in the world

With internet access, we can help transition the next generation into the knowledge and creative economy. Helping them be better stewards of their natural resources.

Our Progress

Our Team will consist primarily of local leaders providing information and education to their commuities. Cause to Connect's model cannot work without these connections.

Join the #InternetForAll movement

We believe internet access is a human right and we are working to bring it to more communities through our model. In the coming months we plan to establish a 501(c)(3), register for a second grant from the US State Department, and build a website for educational content in Malagasy.
